Silver Springs

Landing in Silver Springs, Florida, we departed from our normal of state park living to a private park just outside Ocala National Forest.  Wilderness Resort is on the Okalawaha River and the Trans Florida Trail runs along the back of the resort.  We are quite comfortable here, with very friendly people and lots to do.

Our cement pad faces the forest and the motorhomes are not close.  It is nice to have the view of the Florida forest all day, from inside and outside.

We have had lovely hikes here and you can't beat the weather, 40's to mid 70's.  There are river otters, butterflies, parrots, alligators, deer, and bear, although we haven't seen the later two yet.  Because some of the early Tarzan movies were filmed along the river here, there is even a colony of monkeys.  We are going kayaking tomorrow to see them.
